Excursion from Marrakech to Zagora

Day 01: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora Dunes

We leave the red city of Marrakech at 07.00 am and take the street that breezes its way over the High Atlas mountains. At the most noteworthy point is the Tizi n’Tichka go at 2260 meters of height with staggering perspectives on the area. We take a street off to one side to visit the sustained ksar of Ait Benhaddou; made celebrated by the numerous blockbuster motion pictures that have been shot there since the mid 60’s. You can go for a stroll in the town to its high point to show signs of improvement view and viewpoint of the area. We proceed with our voyage to the city of Ouarzazate where we will have a mid-day break close Kasbah Taourirt which is a social and authentic spot of intrigue.

After lunch we will take the street south to Agdz and the relentless Draa Valley; the old exchange course for Saharan camel trains originating from Timbuktu with gold, flavors and slaves and coming back with salt. This area is loaded with amazing Kasbahs; Tamnougalt is a five multi year old ksar with many fine instances of slammed earth design. The scenes become progressively extensive and lunar like as the Sahara nears and the immense desert garden of date palms is your steady buddy. We reach Zagora, the last enormous town before the desert and the local country of the Saadian administration who governed in Morocco in the seventeenth century and whose tombs can be found in Marrakech.

From Zagora, you will take a camel ride to the campground situated in a desert garden where you can appreciate a roaming way of life for the night, eat under the stars, tune in to neighborhood music and rest in a traveler tent.

Day 02: Zagora Dunes – Agdez – High Atlas – Tichka Pass – Marrakech

You will be woken ahead of schedule to see the dawn over the rises, trailed by a normal breakfast in the bivouac. We will pack up at that point and return by camel to meet the driver for thetrip back to Marrakech. In the early morning light, the scene is very unique to the night; you will see a lot more kasbahs and neighborhood towns, things you missed starting from the journey. We come back to Ouarzazate and you possess free energy for lunch in a neighborhood café. Toward the evening, we cross the Atlas Mountains and achieve Marrakech by the late evening.
